Luxembourg is the European Headquarters for John Deere Financial. The primary activity is providing financial services to customers and dealers who want to finance John Deere equipment.
Our legal department is currently looking for a:

Senior Legal Counsel (Permanent Contract)

Part-time 50%

Your Responsibilities:

In this position you will provide EU legal support and advice for John Deere’s financing products to John Deere customers and dealers. Special focus areas are:

  • Manage legal support related to retail (customer) financing (e.g., loans, leases, related security documents, etc.), wholesale (dealer) financing (e.g., factoring agreements, guarantees, subordination agreements, etc.) and retail vendor cooperations with third party financial institutions
  • Manage certain regulatory / corporate law matters, including intercompany agreements and funding programs
  • With regards to the above, perform legal research and related advice, as well as provide proactive recommendations; review legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable law; manage litigation with counter parties; and manage outside counsel and notaries, where necessary
  • Support projects of Deere’s Global Law Services Group

What Skills You Need:

  • European Law degree and certification as qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience
  • Good working knowledge data privacy and regulatory requirements would be desirable
  • Conscientious, detail oriented and accurate
  • Real team player with a positive and proactive approach – strong communication skills
  • High sense of responsibility and initiative – keen to learn
  • Ability to travel
  • Fluent English is a must – additional languages, such as German and French are an asset
