We are currently looking for a Risk Manager – Business Control. We offer a dynamic and international atmosphere.

The Risk Manager – Business Control assists the Conducting Officer in charge of UCITS Administration, Risk Management and Valuation in a hybrid-role designed to ensure business and investment risks of the Management Company’s operations remain within risk appetite.

The Risk Manager – Business Control will be involved in the following tasks:

Risk Management:

  • Manage, monitor and report on the various risks to be supervised by a Chapter 15 UCITS Management Company and where applicable as AIFM;
  • Monitor compliance of investment limits and restrictions;
  • Handling of breach related matters;
  • Maintain regular relationships with regulatory authorities, various external delegates: central administrative agent, registrar and transfer agent, internal audit etc.;
  • Monitor Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA) and Reglement grand-ducal (RGD) insurance investment restrictions on behalf of our sister company, FWU Life Insurance Luxembourg;
  • Create and follow up on Key Performance Indicators; deliver regular and ad-hoc risk reporting to Senior Management and the Board of Directors;
  • Ensure that procedures, rules and regulations are up-to-date and adhered to;
  • Strive to improve and develop risk management and oversight processes across the business and ensure that funds are robustly governed;
  • Investigate and resolve any client queries, fund discrepancies or regulatory queries.

UCITS/AIFMD – Related delivery:

  • Manage the set-up of new funds, changes to fund structures and implement the appropriate structural changes such as new monitoring processes with procedures documented;
  • Update, review and assist in the production of fund-related documentation such as fund supplements and KIIDs, to a high degree of accuracy and completeness via fostering a collaborative culture with both internal and external counterparties such as legal;
  • Assist with the compliant operational setup in relation to new funds, changes to fund structures and registration requirements imposed by CSSF and local regulators where funds are distributed;
  • Deliver semi-annual risk reporting to the regulator and assist with review and implementation of new risk-based CSSF Circulars;
  • Implement and at times co-ordinate UCITS/AIFMD initiatives and projects to successfully deliver new developments and enhancements via a continuous improvement mindset.

Monitoring and oversight:

  • Perform initial and ongoing Due Diligence on delegates and other key service providers such as investment advisers;
  • Monitor and assess the performance of each delegate on a regular and ongoing basis via a risk-based approach;
  • Document and review monitoring and oversight procedures where delegated services are provided by a 3rd party;
  • Completion of on-site visits for key delegates on a regular basis;
  • Respond to Due Diligence Questionnaires whenever exercise is conducted upon FWU Invest S.A.

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Finance, or similar
  • 5-10 years‘ experience working within the field of Risk Management, Governance, Asset Management and/or Investment Banking
  • You have ideally a good knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework which applies on the Management Company and AIFM, particularly the CSSF Circular 18/698 and the AML regulatory framework
  • You have interest in, and knowledge of programming language is considered an advantage ie. SQL, Python etc.
  • Professional command of English (written and spoken), French will be considered an advantage
  • You have a strong sense of confidentiality and initiative
  • You are highly professional and have a strong teamwork ethic
  • You have a positive mindset and embrace change in a fast-pace environment
  • You have excellent analytical, organizational and written communication skills
  • You have the ability to work independently, are flexible and you learn quickly

Required skills:

  • Effective numerical, literacy and written communication skills
  • Robustly analytical and able to rapidly identify root cause and problem solve
  • Experience working within a dynamic and agile environment
  • Highly organised in the face of large amounts of data
  • Able to quickly grasp the end to end flows of a process
