Job description: Working closely together with key stakeholder groups around the globe, you will support the Global Sourcing Manager with activities focused on vendor management driving best „fit for purpose“ packaging solutions across the regions aiming for standardization, service performance, sustainability and cost optimization at desired service levels.

As expert in the packaging market you will analyse trends, drive innovation on new packaging product development, mitigate supply risk based on packaging technology, and actively develop deep relationships with current and potential suppliers.

You will be working in Global Procurement Logistics & Packaging team that consists of Regional Sourcing Managers, Logistic Buyers, Operational Buyers and reporting to the Global Sourcing Manager – Packaging Materials.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Maintain and develop in-depth knowledge of suppliers, markets & trends
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving service quality or vendor service levels
  • Drive opportunities for standardization of key packaging portfolio throughout the company via collaboration with the relevant units
  • Ensure adherence to global and local compliance regulations on packaging (certification programs)
  • Develop new packaging solutions and new suppliers in conjunction with relevant business units
  • Develop a global packaging material specification repository
  • 2nd line technical support for quality complaint handling.

We are looking for a technical expert, so you have a degree in a relevant field. Next to this, you have relevant work experience in value engineering, sustainability and/or innovation.

You also bring the following:

  • Experience with hazardous chemicals packaging safety-, food packaging safety and regulations;
  • Experience with packaging quality management across the supply chain, root cause analysis and continuous improvement;
  • Demonstrable track record of success in managing complex, cross-functional projects;
  • Excellent command of English is required. Other languages could be considered an asset (i.e. Hebrew, Spanish, German, Dutch and French);
  • Strong result driven personality with good technical, communication and supplier relation skills;
  • When restrictions allow it, you will be required to travel (approximately 20% to other EU countries).

You are fully eligible to work in The Netherlands (work permit and residency).
