Job description: In the frame of a new NPI program launched to design, develop and manufacture, in close collaboration with the Customer, the complete Rotor Drive System of a Heavy Helicopter, we are looking for a Senior System Engineer.
As Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for all engineering activities related to New Product Introduction process of assigned Rotor Drive System modules, including the design phases, development, certification and entry into service. In this role you will be responsible for the plan and execution of all engineering and cross functional activities related to the Transmission Modules across the extended teams (Testing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Purchasing, Program Manager).
You utilize experience& expertise to solve problems, define plan and obtain commitment from team to baseline the plan, create the resource demand for the Engineering Manager, monitor mid- and long-term milestones and regular reporting to peers and seniors Leadership.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Execute strategy and drive key deliverables and milestones to meet the development objectives of the assigned Transmission Modules;

Ensure fulfillment project engineering milestones on time, on cost, on quality;

Ensure fulfillment of Customer Technical Requirements and contractual Statement of Work also through partnership and involvement of qualified external technical consultants.

Develops and maintains trusted relationships with Customer through on-going dialogue and effective technical communication. Collaborates with Customer, Regulatory Agencies, and partners to establish the best technical solutions.

Develops and maintains trusted relationships with qualified external technical consultants.

Drive and coordinate development prototypes build and relevant test activities;

Partner with other Company Functions involved in Helicopter program development and certification by providing technical documentation in accordance to Company policies and procedures and consulting service;

Monitor and report to senior Leadership about project status and significant business and technical issues;

Ensure a rigorous process is followed in the execution of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action of product and process issues;

Provide leadership for unyielding compliance and integrity;

Lead and coordinate the project team providing technical leadership, teaching, consulting, mentoring involved design and validation Resources.

Support technical and program reviews.

Qualifications/Requirements

This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aeronautical is preferred).

Experience in Product Development of complex products and/or gearbox systems New Product Introduction process and flow of activities within the organization

Significant experience in systems engineering or NPI project management

Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design solutions and technologies

English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral

EU work permit

Desired Characteristics

Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Capability to work in multicultural environment, previous experience on helicopter gearbox and/or power gearboxes and/or TGB modules will be considered as a plus.
