Job description: With this spirit, we are looking for a talented engineer, expected to perform design/Certification and production support activities within the Engineering organization with focus on Additive technology (i.e. DMLM mainly). The New Product Introduction Additive Development Engineer will partner with Catalyst Engineering Leaders and Hardware Owners and he/she will be the focal point for the development and industrialization phase of additive components. Main activities will be focused to the design and development of products, solutions and systems and will include activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Into the role the person will have a certain level of autonomy but strongly linked and coordinated with other stakeholders.
Coordinate a Global cross functional team composed by Design for Additive engineers, Manufacturing engineers, NDT specialists, Designers and Quality engineers with the aim to design component additively manufactured and develop the proper manufacturing process
Contribute in the definition and execution of Technical Readiness Level (TRL) & Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) plans on additive components required by Catalyst program, contributing also in the validation, certification and manufacturing strategy to meet the component technical requirements, within the agreed timescale and production cost target approved by the Business.
Contribute in identifying gaps for industrialization and support the team in transitioning the production to an European based supply chain.
Proactively support and coordinate activities with Manufacturing/Sourcing/Quality and Suppliers to implement continuous product improvement by concurrent design and optimizing processes and identifying new opportunities of cost reduction
Contribute in Development of manufacturing processes in order to reduce the overall lead time of additive parts production
Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.
Contribute in the technological validation process capturing design requirements and identifying relevant validation needs
Support the Catalyst Additive Engineering team in the preparation Program Control Board reviews.
Assure proper documentation of technical data relative to the components design are consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aeronautical is preferred) from an accredited university
Experience in Mechanical Design
Extensive experience in static structures design (preferably additive) of aeronautical product
Experience with CAD tools (ie Unigraphics NX)
Knowledge of structural analysis basics
Knowledge of manufacturing process (preferably additive)
Knowledge of Validation and Certification process
English and Italian language fluency, both written and oral
EU Work Permit
Good interpersonal and communication skills
New Product Introduction process experience
Experience in supporting production issues
Capable to work in multicultural environment
Curiosity and passion for innovation
