In this role you will be responsible for the development of Piston Systems on all INNIO Jenbacher Engines.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of Piston components (inc. piston rings, pin and liner interface) on projects covering all series of INNIO Jenbacher engines
  • Collaborative development with piston and ring suppliers to ensuring appropriate application of external and internal simulation tools and testing methods
  • Lead the on-time execution of multiple simultaneous projects in line with INNIO’s NPI development process
  • Managing requirements and technical risk through effective use of DFMEA and robust Design Validation Plans & Reporting (DVP&R)
  • Utilizing on-site test facilities available (Single- & Multi-Cylinder engines) as well as field testing to ensure a robustly validated product for all end-customer applications
  • Work on innovative solutions for new product developments as well as owning the technical investigation and resolution of Fleet Reliability and Production/Supplier Quality issues
  • Lead communications with internal stakeholders on project and technical release status, as well effective collaboration with internal manufacturing and external supplier representatives

Your Profile:

  • Technical Qualification (preferably Bachelors/Maters degree) in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or a comparable Specialization
  • Knowledge and experience in the development and testing of reciprocating engines
  • Experience in the development of pistons and rings specifically is a significant advantage
  • Knowledge in the applicable toolset (Matlab, Concerto, AVL Excite, RINGPAK or similar)
  • Knowledge of quality systems tools (DFMEA; DVP&R) and techniques (DFSS, DFR) and their implementation into development projects
  • Comfortable in an international environment with convincing English and German communication skills. Comfortable with presentation of detailed technical themes across a wide range of audiences
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%)
  • A valid work permit for Austria as a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)

The base pay is composed of the amount according to the Austrian collective agreement which is at least EUR 3.439,42 gross per month (x 14) and an overpayment depending on your qualifications and experience.
