Job description: In the frame of a new NPI program launched to design, develop and manufacture, in close collaboration with the Customer, the complete Rotor Drive System of a Heavy Helicopter, we are looking for a senior Customer Systems Engineering Manager.
As Customer Systems Engineering Manager, you will act as a primary interface between Avio Aero Engineering and Customer’s engineering team located in our Rivalta di Torino’s site supporting and facilitating the organization and deployment of Customer’s team in Rivalta; defining and coordinating the relevant design team work-packages required to meet contractual requirements and deliverables. You will work in a diverse and multicultural environment being the Avio Aero technical representative within the Customer co-location team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Act as a primary interface between Avio Aero Engineering and Customer’s engineering team located in Rivalta supporting and facilitating the organization and deployment of Customer’s team in Rivalta

Support the co-location set-up and readiness interfacing with all other Avio Aero involved functions such as Program, Facilities, IT, Industrial Security, Legal, acting as engineering focal point.

Plan, manage and control the activities of the team members devoted to the engineering tasks.

Define, coordinate and lead work packages assigned to the relevant design teamwork in line with contractual requirements (SOW) and deliverables.

Develops and maintains trusted relationships with the Customer.

Contribute in assuring consistency with engineering policies, practices and procedures of team’s documentation and technical data generated by the co-located team while focusing and ensuring compliance to Intellectual Property policies.

Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the team to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to program needs.

Contribute in prioritization of work according to project/business needs, connector of resources, drives self and team accountability.

Support technical and program reviews.


This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Design Engineering.

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Aeronautical is preferred.

Experience in product development of complex products and/or gearbox systems.

English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral.

EU work permit.

Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design and technologies.

Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international projects experience

Previous experience in manufacturing, knowledge on gearbox manufacturing processes and industrialization

Experience in managing team and resources
