Job Description: Senior Data Project Manager – Banking Client – BrusselsRate: €600 – €800 per dayDuration: 1 year ContractHybrid Working: There is remote working however you will be required to be onsite for Team Meeting and Workshops and meeting your Stakeholders.You will be joining the Sanctions Department of the Bank and work very closely with and under the supervision of the Data Office department of the client (headed by the Chief Data Officer, part of the Client Franchise Value division, which reports to the Chief Business Officer).The Data Office team is a multi-disciplinary group of experts with experience and interest in data as a business asset.The Data Office is in charge of:

  • Managing the current Data Governance & Management board policy for all Group entities, including how it is organized, implemented and maintained. This includes among others defining roles and responsibilities, Meta-data Management and Lineage (a.k.a “Data Management Framework”).
  • Leading the data quality management from start to finish by (1) coordinating the data quality managers, (2) managing company-wide data quality dashboards, (3) prioritizing and planning quality issue resolution.
  • Ensuring the consistency of Data Management Methods and Tools across different divisions/departments, and between business & technology.
  • Coaching the assigned business data owners and data stewards
  • Helping and supporting the meta-data documentation and management (e.g. data dictionaries, data traceability/lineage, data sharing agreements, …)

What do we expect from you Senior Project manager roleAs a senior data project manager, you will be responsible for managing a cluster of projects, including a project to bring data under governance, improve the data that is used for sanctions screening, and review entirely how reports and MIs (KPIs, KRIs) are being built. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning and execution of the data governance project, ensuring that data is managed according to the Data Governance & Management board policy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Data Office department, the Sanctions Department of the Bank and project owners to ensure that the data used for sanctions screening is accurate and reliable
  • Review and improve the process of building reports and MIs, ensuring that they meet the needs and requirements of stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the projects to relevant stakeholders
  • Train and support users in the use of the new data governance and reporting processes

The proposed role includes all phase of the project, from ideation to planning and execution, including liaising with IT for technical developments.This role requires a strong understanding of data management, as well as experience with data governance, sanctions screening, and report building.Any experience with regulatory data requirements is considered a plus.Your experience

  • You have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a project manager who handles the whole project lifecycle in the financial services industry
  • You have proven skills in Data Management, Systems and Data usage activities
  • You have practical experience or are certified with Data Management tools like Collibra and Reporting tools like PowerBI
  • You have a passion for data and its value for the customer and you have the strong ambition to transform our customer’s culture into a data culture. You use a pragmatic approach to deliver results consistently.
  • You have a solid background in a client segment such as capital markets, corporate banking, SME/retail banking, FMI, payments, wealth and investment management or insurance
  • You hold a higher degree preferably related to finance, economy, IT, engineering, or other relevant education
  • You are enthusiastic about digitalisation & innovation, regulatory & compliance, operational excellence, and transformation
  • You have experience in planning, delivering, and executing complex projects, using different methodologies (waterfall, agile, lean, DevOps, …)
  • You have excellent client-facing skills and can manage client relationships successfully
  • Fluent English is required, knowledge of Dutch/French is an advantage
  • You are willing to travel and work in cross-border teams at the Brussels HQ
